The Lied Boys & Girls Club will be closed for the 2025/2026 school year following our summer camp program. While we are hopeful that this closure is temporary, it will remain closed until additional funding sources are secured. The impact of this change is felt deeply across our organization, and especially within the community that has supported and grown with the Lied Club over the years.

The one thing that will never change is our commitment to kids and teens. Creating safe, enriching spaces where they can learn, grow, and belong will always be at the heart of what we do.

Beginning October 27th, YouthCity Fairpark will operate their afterschool program out of the Juniors space at the Lied Club (464 S Concord), allowing us to make this building a hub for youth once again.

As part of this partnership:

• YouthCity has agreed to reserve a limited number of registration spots for youth impacted by the Lied Club closure.

• They will also assist with transportation coordination for participating schools.

• While YouthCity typically charges a program fee, this fee is waived for families whose children qualify for free or reduced-price meals through their school.

We have reached out directly to many of our Club families, but we know that word-of-mouth is still one of the best ways to ensure families are informed. We would greatly appreciate your help in spreading the word.

Below, you’ll find the registration forms in English and Spanish. Please note:

• Families should mark box “G” on page 4 of the packet if they qualify for free or reduced lunch.

• The fee waiver form is the second page of the packet.

• Forms submitted between October 15–24 will secure a start date of Monday, October 27th.

Once families have completed their forms, please submit the packet directly to YouthCity Senior Community Programs Manager, Michael Vargas at (385) 495-8960 michael.vargas@slc.gov.

Additionally, we want to highlight that there is still space in YouthCity’s Kindergarten–2nd Grade program at the Sorenson Multi-Cultural Center. This location may be more convenient for some families or serve as an alternative for those waitlisted for the Fairpark program at the Lied Club site. We understand that families may have many questions about this transition and the differences between a Boys & Girls Club program and the YouthCity model.  Please feel free to contact Michaelif you would like to speak directly. Boys & Girls Clubs and YouthCity share a common goal to ensure every family feels welcomed, supported, and seen.  

Please note that this is a temporary solution for this school year. We remain committed to finding a long-term solution that restores Boys & Girls Club programming in Glendale.

A partir del 27 de octubre, YouthCity Fairpark operará su programa extraescolar en el espacio Juniors en el Lied Club (464 S Concord), lo que nos permitirá hacer de este edificio un centro para jóvenes una vez más.

Como parte de esta asociación:

• YouthCity ha acordado reservar un número limitado de plazas de registro para los jóvenes afectados por el cierre del Lied Club.

• También ayudarán con la coordinación del transporte para las escuelas participantes.

• Si bien YouthCity generalmente cobra una tarifa de programa, esta tarifa se exime para las familias cuyos hijos califican para comidas gratuitas o a precio reducido a través de su escuela.

Nos hemos puesto en contacto directamente con muchas de las familias de nuestro Club, pero sabemos que el boca a boca sigue siendo una de las mejores maneras de asegurar que las familias estén informadas. Agradeceríamos enormemente su ayuda para difundir la información.
